🚆 Pakistan’s Jaffar Express Train Blast – Seven Passengers Injured | scnewz.com

Welcome to (scnewz.com) a sad incident shook Pakistan on the morning of October 7, 2025, when a powerful explosion hit the Jaffar Express near Shikarpur, Sindh. The blast caused four train coaches to derail and left at least seven passengers injured, according to early reports from rescue officials.

The tragedy took place close to Sultan Kot railway station, as the Quetta-to-Peshawar bound train was passing over the track. Witnesses say the sound of the explosion was so loud that it echoed across nearby villages. Within minutes, police and Rescue 1122 teams arrived and began shifting the injured to Civil Hospital Shikarpur.

Officials later confirmed that the explosion was caused by an improvised explosive device (IED) planted under the railway line. The attack disrupted train services for several hours while authorities carried out repairs and cleared the area for investigation.

According to local media, a group known as the Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) claimed responsibility for the attack. They alleged that their target was security personnel traveling on the train. However, there has been no official confirmation from the Pakistani government or security forces so far. The ISPR and Pakistan Railways security units have both launched investigations into the incident.

The Jaffar Express is one of Pakistan’s most significant railway services, connecting Quetta in Balochistan to Peshawar in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Thousands of passengers use this route every week. Unfortunately, this is not the first time the train has been targeted in such attacks. Similar explosions have been reported in past years, often damaging sections of the railway network.

The train’s name, Jaffar Express, honors Mir Jaffar Khan Jamali, a respected freedom fighter and political leader in Pakistan’s early history. For decades, this train has been a vital link between the country’s southern and northern regions, offering affordable travel for families, traders, and students alike.

After the explosion, law enforcement agencies cordoned off the site while bomb disposal units searched for additional explosives. Locals shared that they had noticed unusual activity near the tracks in the past few days but never imagined such an attack would occur.

By the evening, railway engineers managed to clear the damaged sections, allowing partial train operations to resume. Pakistan Railways officials confirmed that normal service is expected to restart from the following morning.

Security experts have called the blast a serious reminder of the ongoing threats to Pakistan’s transport infrastructure. They stressed that the government needs to enhance monitoring systems and improve coordination between local police, intelligence, and railway departments to prevent future attacks.

Despite the shock and fear caused by the incident, authorities praised the quick response of rescue teams and railway workers who worked tirelessly to assist the victims and repair the damage.
