Russia–Ukraine War: Massive Drone & Missile Strike 2025



 Friends, the biggest headline grabbing global story today is the new and most intense round of attacks in the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. On 7 December 2025, Russia launched massive overnight drone and missile strikes on several Ukrainian cities. There are still no signs of the war slowing down — in fact, the situation is becoming more serious with each passing day.


According to the Ukrainian military, Russia used 653 drones and over 50 missiles in the assault. It was such a large-scale attack that even Ukraine’s air defense systems came under heavy pressure. Ukraine claimed to have successfully intercepted 585 drones and 30 missiles, but despite that, significant destruction has been reported — especially to the power system and transportation facilities.


The energy infrastructure suffered the most damage. In many cities, power plants reduced their production, leading to widespread blackouts. Homes, hospitals, railway systems — everything was directly affected. Some regions had to switch to emergency generators. With winter season beginning, a power outage means people are now facing even tougher conditions.


This attack has increased tensions not only in Ukraine but across Europe. European leaders called Russia’s move an “escalation of war.” It seems that when diplomatic efforts failed to produce progress, Moscow chose to increase pressure instead. The attack came just days after the peace conference in Miami, where no breakthrough was achieved. Now, both the European Union and NATO are operating in a heightened alert mode.


Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has started a tour of Europe to convince allies to provide advanced air defense systems. He also met British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and discussed the U.S.-proposed peace draft. Ukraine insists that peace is only possible if Russia stops its attacks and withdraws from occupied territories. However, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in an interview that he does not feel the need for any “serious compromise” — indicating that the war is unlikely to stop anytime soon.


Today’s attacks also damaged Ukraine’s railway system. Multiple blasts were reported near a major railway hub close to Kyiv, causing train delays and cancellations. Commuters and travelers are in distress. Ukraine says Russia’s aim is not only to hit military targets but also to disrupt daily life in order to break the morale of the people.


This strike is trending worldwide because it is one of the biggest coordinated drone-missile attacks of 2025. Many analysts warn that if such attacks continue, the war could deepen divisions within Europe. Several countries are already feeling pressure to impose new sanctions on Russia.


Despite everything, the Ukrainian people continue to stand strong. Even with blackouts, destruction, and heavy losses, the public says they will not step back from their freedom. This war is no longer just a conflict over borders — it has become a struggle for survival and the future.
